Bio: Dave considers himself a semi-native of Vermont. "He wasn't born here but he got here as quick as he could" His mother's family has a long history in the Charlotte/Ferrisburgh area, including his Great-Great Uncle George Thorpe who came upon railroad workers who had uncovered the Baluga whale skeleton dating from the days of the Champlain Sea that today sits at UVM’s museum. Dave fondly remembers spending all the summers of his youth at the lakefront cottage that his grandfather built on Long Point. After living in several Northeastern states as a child, Dave graduated from Manalapan High School in Englishtown, New Jersey then moved on to study engineering and then business at The City University of New York at Brooklyn College earning his way through school as a motorcycle messenger in NYC and working for a Wall Street brokerage firm. After school Dave decided to move North to Vermont rather than continue on Wall Street. In Vermont he worked as a Registered Representative for an investment company selling mutual funds before deciding 'it was O.K. to have some fun for a while'. Dave spent the next several years working and skiing at several of Vermont's largest ski area and had the distinction of joining the 'Century Club', having skied Stowe Mountain 105 days in the 1985-1986 season. Successfully helping families with all their real estate needs since 1987, Dave joined Realty Mart (then a Coldwell Banker franchise) in 1991. Realty Mart was one of the first agencies in Chittenden County to offer Buyer representation. Since then Dave has represented the best interests of hundreds of Buyers as an Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR). Another designation he has attained, means that he understands the importance and power of using of the internet and electronic communications. e- Pro - Certified Internet Professional Recently Dave joined Brad and Dave Chenette at Chenette Real Estate after enjoying a great working relationship for the last 15 years at Realty Mart.
