Bio: Have you ever done something that is completely crazy and spontaneous but worked out much better than you could have imagined? That is how Winston and Whitney came to live on the Outer Banks. Winston and Whitney had been married about one year and like many young newly wed couples they were full of ideals and dreams of how their lives were going to be. They had great jobs, were working hard and had been able to buy a small house. Everything was going along as they had planned. One Thursday afternoon they decided to get away for a short notice weekend vacation, so as to spend some quality time together. They packed up and headed out of town towards Kitty Hawk and would be staying with family there on the beach. Escaping the fast pace of the city and getting some time together was the goal. While driving down I-40, headed to the beach Whitney said, "why don't we just move to the Outer Banks?" They talked about this for a couple of hours in the car and decided to do it. Immediately, they called Winston's mother, who is a real estate broker on the beach and asked her to set up as many houses for them to look as possible. She was thrilled. They found a special house with charm and character. They bought the house that day and have made the Outer Banks their home ever since. For them it was a risk, a long shot, but they found their piece of paradise. Winston and Whitney share the excitement and enthusiasm they felt that day with all of their clients. They enjoy the natural beauty of the Outer Banks and understand why you don't want to leave once your vacation is over. Things have changed a great deal since that time. They are now the proud parents of two boys, Max and Levi, a Yellow Lab named Zack and one very fat cat named Kit, but life remains a constant adventure. Whitney Hawkins Born in Sacramento, California, Whitney grew up in a Real Estate family, and was naturally drawn to the excitement of the business. She developed a passion for homes, design and the every changing Real Estate Industry. At age 18, she earned her real estate license and subsequently completed her BA at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She worked in Property management on the Outer Banks for 6 years and earned her Brokers license in 2001. She offers a wealth of information, support and guidance by combining her working knowledge of property management and home design with her personal Outer Banks Real Estate investment experiences. It is her goal to help her clients realize their dream of owning a home on the Outer Banks. Whether looking for a primary home, second home or simply a great place to invest. In her free time, Whitney enjoys time with family, gardening, running, reading and boating. Winston Hawkins Winston was born in Edenton, NC and raised in Charlotte, NC for more than 28 years. He attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and received a BS in Business Admin. and Finance. Winston has been involved in sales since graduating college. He began in the real estate profession in 1994 with Browder-Harris Company a small commercial development firm which specialized in retail, and Office buildings in a niche market in downtown Charlotte, NC. He then went on to the residential home sale in 1996 with the Allen Tate Company, the largest independent real estate firm in North Carolina. There he earned the coveted Rooky of the year award for the company. Upon reaching the beach Winston has been working with REMAX Ocean Realty. Winston specializes in investment real estate and second homes. As a real estate Broker, REALTOR and investor. Winston brings a thorough understanding of each aspect of the business and takes great pride in the personal attention and guidance that he provides for each of his clients. Many of his past clients continue to work with Winston and seek assistance and guidance on all of their real estate needs. In addition to his professional and busy personal life, Winston has found time to dive in and give back to his community.
