Bio: The Black Mountain/Swannanoa Valley area of Western North Carolina east of Asheville is a great place to live, and the place I am delighted to call home! More and more people are deciding to make our area their home as well, and I'm here to help. My agency - Mountain Vista Properties - is conveniently located in downtown Black Mountain. We are a small-town, locally-owned agency. I chose to work with MVP because I was free to do things my way, which is definitely low-key, courteous, and free of the high-pressure tactics employed by some real estate agents. I'm more inclined to listen to YOU than to talk your ear off non-stop like some salespeople tend to do! I am also very much a professional, abiding by the highest ethical standards and striving for a high standard of professional competency. Prior to becoming a Realtor, I had earned an MBA from Indiana University and worked for many years in higher education financial management, so I bring a higher level of expertise to home finance matters than does your typical Realtor. The main focus of my work is with buyers, which is why I have earned the Accredited Buyer Representative designation. I prefer to work with my clients as a Non-exclusive buyer's agent; the way I work this within North Carolina laws means that you will only be committed to work with me for the specific properties that I show you, and my commission will be paid by the seller, not by you. This arrangement provides the greatest comfort level for my clients, and affords them the greatest level of protection and representation -- all at no cost to the client. I do take listings, but unlike some Realtors I do not aggressively go after them. Instead, my efforts are focused on getting buyers. There is a reason for this: any Realtor can take a listing, but you need to find a buyer to SELL your property. There are few Realtors in our area who work more actively and extensively with buyers than I do. This results in more showings for my listings, and more showings will usually result in a quicker sale.
