Bio: Margie Smigel, broker principal and creative director of MetroPro Corp, began as a developer/investor in Boston in 1978-1979 when she secured a HUD-312 loan to convert an abandoned ex- fraternity house from Northeastern University into a three family home. The Fenway neighborhood in Boston, at that time, had been ravaged by an “arson for hire” scheme. She was one of the first to invest in the rebuilding of a neighborhood that is now vibrant. A graphic designer and filmmaker, as well as a real estate investor, she moved to Chicago in 1988, where she began to market and sell real estate. In February of 1999, with her business partners, she created MetroPro. Their goal has been to build an environment of accessible information and deeply committed service to their clients, both sellers and buyers. They work with sellers to enhance their properties so that they sell quickly and for the best and highest prices. Using their technological tools, they work with buyers to provide them with the greatest breadth of knowledge about the housing market and individual listings.
