Bio: Kelly Hanson has been married to his wife, Valerie, since 1972. They have three children and three grandchildren (and more on the way)! He has enjoyed living in North Idaho since 1988. Kelly was the rookie of the year in his first year of sales, and became North Idaho's first Accredited Buyer Representative in 1996. Buyer Representatives ensure that clients receive better customer service. The homebuyer signs a contract stating that the real estate agent is representing them. Buyers are becoming more sophisticated, and want more service, says Kelly. With buyer representation, the real estate agent is required to check all the information on the form to make sure that information is correct. Hundreds of questions need to be asked of the homeowner before the buyer closes the deal on a property. Having an agent inquire about everything from sewer systems to electrical wiring is extremely advantageous to the buyer. He is the 2001 President-elect for the CDA Association of REALTORS®. Licensed since September of 1988, Kelly earned the designation of Rookie of the Year in 1989. Kelly has served on the Board as Local Director for two years and 1998 as Secretary-Treasurer and Vice- President. He has served six years as the chairman of the Orientation Committee and is an active member of the Education Committee. He has been involved for four years with the Post Falls Toastmaster and in his fourth year as a Certified Master Gardener. Kelly started the first Business Network International (BNI) in North Idaho that currently has twenty-six members. Kelly's hobbies include gardening (he is a veteran master gardener), photography, woodcarving, hiking, gold panning, cooking…and his grandchildren!
