Bio: Born into the Hawaii real estate industry, John’s family has been involved with residential and commercial projects since the late 1960’s, including regional retail centers (Pearlridge Center, Guam Factory Outlets), condominium projects (1010 Wilder, The Courtyards at Punahou, Harbor Court), and hotel construction (Kapalua Bay Hotel, Sheraton Molokai, Westin Kauai, Hyatt Regency Waikiki). From new home sales to re-sales in some of Hawaii’s most historic neighborhoods, and from commercial site analyses to assisting newcomers in their relocation to Hawaii, John has the practical background and know-how to give personal and professional service to a wide range of clientele. A product of Punahou School in Honolulu, John received his Bachelor’s degree in English literature from Pomona College, graduating Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa. John began his professional real estate career in 1994, serving as Assistant Director of Research and Development at Monroe & Friedlander, Hawaii’s largest commercial real estate firm. In April of 1995, John helped open RE/MAX Honolulu, Oahu’s exclusive franchisee of the RE/MAX International Real Estate network. Over the next two years, he oversaw the growth of RE/MAX Honolulu into the company that it is today: the third largest company in the Honolulu market, with twenty- three associates who on average outperform other Honolulu agents by a staggering margin of nine-to-one! While he continues to serve as President of the Board of Directors of RE/MAX Honolulu, John has also continued to successfully represent buyers and sellers in a market that continues to grow…in 1997, John extended his reach and influence in the Hawaii RE/MAX network by acquiring the office and franchise rights to the Island and County of Maui. Among other benefits, this has improved his team’s ability to personally serve all of his clients’ property needs, whether on the island of Oahu, or elsewhere in the State of Hawaii.
